Medical Clearance Requirements
Your safety and wellbeing are my highest priorities. To ensure both your health and the best possible results, please review the following requirements before booking your permanent makeup appointment.
Who Cannot Receive PMU Procedures
I am unable to perform permanent makeup procedures on clients who meet any of the following criteria:
Age Requirements
- ✗ Under 18 years old — Clients must be at least 18 years of age
Pregnancy & Nursing
- ✗ Currently pregnant — PMU is not safe during pregnancy
- ✗ Currently breastfeeding — Please wait until you have finished nursing
Medical Conditions
The following conditions may prevent you from receiving PMU, or require physician approval:
- ⚠ Transmissible blood conditions — Including HIV, Hepatitis, or other bloodborne conditions
- ⚠ Active infections or illness — Including cold sores, flu, or any active infection
- ⚠ Diabetes — Doctor's clearance note required
- ⚠ High blood pressure — Doctor's clearance note required
- ⚠ Heart conditions — Doctor's clearance note required
- ⚠ Bleeding disorders — Or use of blood-thinning medications
- ⚠ Autoimmune conditions — Doctor's clearance note required
- ⚠ Any serious medical condition — Must be approved by your physician with written documentation
Skin Conditions
- ✗ Prone to keloid scarring — History of keloids or hypertrophic scarring
- ✗ Active skin conditions in treatment area — Including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, or irritation
- ✗ Sunburned or compromised skin — In or near the treatment area
Obtaining Medical Clearance
If any of the conditions above apply to you, please take the following steps before booking:
- 1 Consult your physician — Discuss your interest in permanent makeup
- 2 Obtain written clearance — A signed note from your doctor approving the procedure
- 3 Submit documentation — Email your clearance to sarka@pmusanjose.com before your appointment

I reserve the right to refuse or postpone service if medical clearance requirements are not met. This policy exists to protect your health and ensure you achieve beautiful, long-lasting results.
